"Max Ott, lecturer for design and photography at the University for Applied Sciences Munich and at the Ifog-Academy Munich, explores different kinds of media and unfolds his creativity trough design, drawing, photography and graphics. His work 'DE-PARTURE', which adresses the divergence of decay and reconstruction, attends to the materiality of a building laying into shatters, to depict the ruins of societal order. On the other hand, he makes human self, shaped by terror, omnipresent. Max Ott works with very cold lighting conditions and consequently suggests a freezing of time, while the escape, which abdicates the present to find hold and hope in the future, is the single possible exit from a life-threatening environment."
